I am a Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) user. I have spent most of my life living in Newcastle upon Tyne. ‘Rory’s Teeth’ was my first animated film.
I am keen to go on and develop my work in animation, with more Rory stories (including Rory Get Fit) this is the next in the series of Rory’s stories, and also to work in 3D to produce full Sign Language animated films.
I have illustrated two children books, “The beach Tree” written by Noreen Rees and “Cars of many Colours” written by Bob Duncan.
I have facilitated a variety of animation and illustration workshops with Deaf and hearing children coming from youth club, schools and at various children film festivals. At the most recent workshop I worked with a company called Jack drum Art, collaborating in a new project facilitating animation workshops and demonstrating to my audience the art of shadow puppets and how to create them.
